Bill Walsh is a copy editor at The Washington Post and the author of "Lapsing Into a Comma," "The Elephants of Style" and "Yes, I Could Care Less." After graduating from the University of Arizona, he worked at The Phoenix Gazette and The Washington Times before joining the Post in 1997. He has run a Web site for editors, The Slot (www.theslot.com), since 1995 and offers language commentary 140 characters at a time as @TheSlot. This is his 19th ACES conference.
