Dr. William Hickman is a professor of mass communication at the University of Central Oklahoma. He has been teaching since 1991. His professional experience includes news desk stints at The Daily Oklahoman, The Dallas Morning News, the Arlington (Texas) Daily News and the Tulsa World for more than 35 years.

Lisa McLendon

Bremner Editing Center Coordinator, University of Kansas
Lisa McLendon runs the Bremner Editing Center at the University of Kansas journalism school, where she also teaches editing. She has previously worked as a copy editor and book reviewer at the Wichita (Kan.) Eagle and as a copy editor, designer and desk chief at the Denton (Texas) Record-Chronicle. She began her journalism career — and joined ACES — in 2000 after earning a doctorate in Slavic linguistics from the University of Texas.
