The editorial field is increasingly competitive for job seekers, while job security is top of mind for employed copy editors. This session discusses how editors can create new revenue opportunities and make their role and knowledge indispensable to an organization. Specifically, it examines the work of one editor who built an editorial service line for her employer that included expanding into content strategy development, licensed content and lower-cost, high-volume publications. Key takeaways focus on empowering editors to find new opportunities with their current skill sets and how to pitch new editorial products and services to leadership.
