Steve Kleinedler is the executive editor for the American Heritage Dictionary and managing editor for the Webster’s New World College Dictionary, both published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, where he is executive editor of the reference group. Steve earned a BA in linguistics from Northwestern University and attended graduate school at the University of Chicago for linguistics. He worked as a freelance editor for several reference titles for National Textbook Company between 1989 and 1997 and joined the American Heritage Dictionary editorial staff in 1997. Steve is vice president of the Dictionary Society of North America.
